Rain and irrigation water carries soil, debris, fertilizer and pesticides from your yard into neighborhood storm drains that lead to bays, rivers and lakes, polluting habitats and altering water quality.  Reducing runoff from your property minimizes these problems.

Create swales and berms in your yard to capture stormwater and allow it to percolate through the soil.  Use pervious surfaces for driveways, patios and walkways to allow water to soak into the ground.  Keep grass clippings and trash out of storm drains.
